You need a lidded metal tin, a piece of flint and a piece of iron stone. Fill your tin with dried firbrous animal dung, i.e. from a horse or camel.
Hold the lid of your tin so it blocks out the wind then strike the flint on the ironstone so the sparks fall into the tin and on the dung. As you do this blow gently onto the dung and you will eventually create a glowing patch of burning dung, from which you can light a cigerette or start a fire.
