Make sure your skis are properly fitted or they'll just fall off when you start to speed up. Grasp the tow rope & lean slightly backwards with your knees bent under your body. The tips of the skis should be protruding above the surface of the water. As the boat moves away, and the slack of the rope is taken up, move from the crouching position to an upright position. Keep your arms straight as possible and do not let the boat pull you forward. Resist its pull with the muscles in the back of your legs and back. Don't worry if you don't suceed the first time, if you fall just try again remember to let go of your tow rope immediately and tuck your head in and bring your knees up to your chest or fall backwards if you can. This will make injury less likely. |
