How to play Tlachtli

This ball game was invented by the Olmec civilization & became an importnant part of Aztec culture & entertainment with a playing court at the great temple complex ot Tenochtitlan (Mexico City).

You will need:

A large court shaped like  a capital I with a stem of 40-50ft (12-15m) long  and 20-30ft (6-9m) wide with side walls about 9ft (2.75m) high.

2 stone rings, large enough to fit your ball through, these are vertically placed halfway along each wall.

A hard rubber ball the size of a basketball.

A padded leather belt to cover the buttocks.

Instructions:

Divide players into equal teams.

The players can only strike the ball with their elbows, hips or legs, it cannot be kicked or thrown. A point is a scored for striking the ball throught the stone ring.

There are no other known rules so if you need some more invent your own.
